Every week, we try to earn stars for Fun Friday. We need 9 to earn it, and 12 to earn a super special surprise. Our class earns stars by walking quietly in the hallway, participating during carpet time, cleaning up quietly after centers, quick transitions, etc. We haven't quite earned the 12 stars yet, so maybe one day we will. Fun Friday is basically free centers time. If they are finished with all their work from throughout the week, they can participate in Fun Friday, otherwise they need to finish their work, and then they can participate.

Also, I hope you all got my note in blue folders about the fruit for Monday. I apologize for this being last minute. If you could please bring the fruit that was circled on your child's paper, that would be very helpful! Thanks so much for such wonderful kiddos!!!

WATCHDOGS!

Calling all Dads!
On Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. we will be having our 2nd annual WATCH D.O.G.S. kickoff meeting.
WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life.  Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to help promote a safe and positive school environment.
Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers. . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your Robertson student in a fun atmosphere at school!

What a beautiful group of kiddos I have!!! We have had such a wonderful first two weeks of school! We are finally getting down our routines, and I cannot be more pleased with what a wonderful class I have!

Last week we finally got to visit the library! That was one of my favorite parts of the week. We also worked on understanding how math centers work, and practiced our "stamina" during reading time. Ask your kiddos what "stamina" means, and what our independent reading goal is! Just in case they forgot over this long weekend, stamina means "to focus on your work." Our independent reading goal is 20 minutes of reading to self. We have almost met this goal! They start getting a little antsy around 15 minutes, but we are getting there!

Look for our class newsletter coming home in your child's blue folder Monday or Tuesday. This will include what we are learning and practicing this week! Don't forget book orders are due on Friday! Remember, the more books you buy for your home, the more books end up in our classroom!

Looking forward to a great week, Buckaroos!
